Alzira is een gemeente in de Spaanse provincie València in de regio València met een oppervlakte van 110 km². Alzira telt 44.488 inwoners .
In 1988 heeft de stad de literaire prijs voor de roman opgericht, waaraan zowel eer als een belangrijke geldsom verbonden is. In 2007 ging de prijs naar de schrijfster Isabel-Clara Simó.
