La Coruña[4][5][6] [7][8][9][10] is een stad en een gemeente in Spanje, gelegen in de autonome gemeenschap Galicië, de hoofdstad van de gelijknamige provincie. Belangrijke historische haven, het ligt aan de noordwestkust van het Iberisch schiereiland, in de Rías Altas. Het stadscentrum strekt zich uit over een schiereiland dat door een smalle isthmus aan het vasteland is verbonden, waardoor het twee verschillende maritieme facades heeft: de havenkant en een andere aan open zee, richting de baai van Orzán, en waarop de belangrijkste stadsstranden liggen.
