De Universiteit van Oñate, officieel de Universiteit van de Heilige Geest, was een Spaanse universiteit die in 1540 werd opgericht door een bul van Paulus III. De universiteit beschikte over faculteiten Rechtsgeleerdheid, Canoniek Recht, Kunsten, Geneeskunde en Theologie, tot haar sluiting in 1842.
De universiteit ondervond talrijke ups en downs als gevolg van economische redenen en de spanning tussen carlisten en liberalen. Ze werd heropend tijdens de Derde Carlistische Oorlog onder de naam Koninklijke en Pontificale Universiteit van de Basken en Navarra en opnieuw tussen 1895 en 1901, toen ze definitief werd gesloten wegens gebrek aan financiële middelen.
