Het Plaça Major is een van de belangrijkste pleinen van Palma. Het is omgeven door de straat Sant Miquel, straat Rubí en de straat Sindicat. Het ligt op enkele meters afstand van andere significante monumenten zoals de kerk van Sant Miquel en het Teatre Principal.
De ruimte die de Plaça Major van Palma innneemt is van het oude klooster van Sant Felip Neri en enkele buurpanden. Het heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond en de omheining is overdekt, waarop gebouwen van drie of vier verdiepingen oprijzen.
