De centrale vlakbij de haven van de stad Ibiza werd in 1971 in gebruik genomen met scheepsdieselmotoren en in de loop der jaren uitgebreid met gasturbines. Het totale geïnstalleerde vermogen van de 6 groepen met 15 eenheden bedraagt tegenwoordig in totaal 366 megawatt, waarvan ongeveer de helft uit dieselmotoren en de andere helft uit gasturbines bestaat.
