In de volksmond wordt dit de Broederschap van het Transport genoemd, vanwege haar banden met het transportgilde.
De eerste statuten van de broederschap werden goedgekeurd op 19 oktober 1954, onder het beschermheerschap van Sint Christoffel Martelaar, vanwege de banden met het transportgilde. Op Palmzondag 1955 hield deze broederschap haar eerste processie, bij die gelegenheid alleen met de mysteriepraalwagen, waarin zij, zoals de titel van de broederschap zelf al aangeeft, de Passiepassage voorstelt waarin Onze-Lieve-Heer door koning Herodes wordt verstoten.
