In de Rue Claude-Bernard, 12, zou men later "Extrait Organique" verkopen,... gebaseerd op extracten van teelballen om je jonger te houden. Het was het resultaat van het (onjuiste) onderzoek van Charles-édouard Brown-Séquard aan het collège de France. Hij geloofde dat gemalen teelballen van dieren hem jong zouden houden, omdat hij ervan overuigd was dat veroudering verroorzaakt werd door een verminderde functie van de teelballen.
