De fontein gelegen aan de route des sources aan de voet van Drumont op 735 m hoogte markeert officieel de bron van de Moezel. De rivier wordt echter gevormd door de vereniging van verschillende stromen, waarvan sommige op meer dan 1.000 m hoogte stromen, op de hellingen van de Grand Drumont. Na een lange reis van 560 km mondt de Moezel uit in de Rijn bij Koblenz in Duitsland, dat hemelsbreed slechts 262 km van Bussang ligt! De bron wordt gemarkeerd door een granieten monument dat op 23 mei 1965 werd opgericht. Het ligt onder de Col de Bussang.
