La fontana situata sulla route des sources ai piedi del Drumont, a 735 m di altitudine, segna ufficialmente la sorgente della Mosella. Tuttavia, il fiume è formato dall'unione di diversi torrenti, alcuni dei quali scorrono a più di 1.000 m di altitudine, sulle pendici del Grand Drumont. Dopo un lungo viaggio di 560 km, la Mosella confluisce nel Reno a Coblenza, in Germania, a soli 262 km in linea d'aria da Bussang! La fonte è segnalata da un monumento in granito eretto il 23 maggio 1965. Si trova sotto il Col de Bussang.
