Met zijn meer dan 75 meter hoge torenspitsen wordt hij vaak verward met de kathedraal. Deze in de 11e eeuw gestichte abdij was een van de rijkste van de Middeleeuwen. Van dit gebouw zijn alleen de elegante gevel, de refter van de monniken, de kloostergang en de bijgebouwen overgebleven.
