De Chevalier-Montrachet is een Franse wijn met een gecontroleerde herkomstbenaming, geproduceerd op het klimaat van Chevalier-Montrachet in Puligny-Montrachet, in Côte-d'Or. Het wordt geclassificeerd als een grand cru van de wijngaard van de Côte de Beaune.
Het edict van de Romeinse keizer Domitianus, in 92, verbood de aanplant van nieuwe wijnstokken buiten Italië; hij liet de wijnstokken in Bourgondië gedeeltelijk uittrekken om concurrentie te vermijden. De resulterende wijngaard voldeed aan de lokale behoeften. Maar Probus schafte dit edict in 280 af. In 312 schreef een leerling van Eumenius de eerste beschrijving van de wijngaard van de Côte d'Or.
