Fort du Parmont werd gebouwd tussen 1874 en 1876 en maakt deel uit van het verdedigingssysteem van de Haute Moselle, ontworpen door generaal Séré de Rivières. Het ligt op 591 meter hoogte, kijkt uit over Remiremont en controleert de toegang tot de valleien van de Moselotte en de strategische verbindingswegen tussen Épinal, Plombières, Val-d?Ajol, Xertigny en Bussang.
Verlaten in 1960, is het nu gerestaureerd door de Association de Sauvegarde du Fort du Parmont. Ontdek deze unieke plek met zijn getrouwe reconstructies en gerestaureerde ruimtes: bakkerij, kazerne, kruitmagazijn en zelfs een operationeel optisch communicatiesysteem dat werkt op zonlicht of paraffinelampen, een zeldzaamheid in Frankrijk.
Rondleidingen om 14.30 uur, daarna om 16.00 uur van 1 april tot 31 augustus.
Bezoeken om 15.00 uur van 1 september tot 11 november.
