Built between 1874 and 1876, Fort du Parmont is part of the Haute Moselle defensive system designed by General Séré de Rivières. Situated at an altitude of 591 meters, it overlooks Remiremont and controls access to the Moselotte valleys, as well as strategic roads linking Épinal, Plombières, Val-d?Ajol, Xertigny and Bussang.
Abandoned in 1960, it has now been restored by the Association de Sauvegarde du Fort du Parmont. Discover this unique site, with its faithful reconstructions and restored rooms: bakery, barracks, gunpowder magazine, and even an operational optical communication system, running on sunlight or kerosene lamps - a rarity in France.
Tours at 2.30pm, then 4pm from April 1 to August 31.
Visits at 3:00 pm from September 1 to November 11.
