Aan de voet van het gelijknamige kasteel is de vijver van Waldeck een van de uitzonderlijke plaatsen die als natuurreservaat zijn geklasseerd. Het is een vijver die het hele jaar door te zien is vanaf de dijk. Vanwege de kwetsbaarheid van de fauna en flora is het niet mogelijk er rond te lopen. Het is een gevoelig natuurgebied dat moet worden gerespecteerd en bewaard.
