Het atelier ligt in het hart van het dorp Larressore (3km van Espelette)
De familie Ainciart Bergara maakt al meer dan 200 jaar makhila (of makila) door mispelhout, leer en verschillende metalen (messing, nikkel zilver, zilver) te combineren. De werkplaats beslaat twee complementaire ruimtes: de productiewerkplaats en een projectiezaal. De knowhow van de werkplaats is opgenomen in de inventaris van zeldzame ambachten in het kader van de UNESCO voor de bescherming van het immaterieel cultureel erfgoed. De werkplaats Ainciart Bergara heeft al meer dan 100 jaar het EPV-label en is een Levend Erfgoedbedrijf (Ministerie van Economische Zaken).
