Aan de oever van de Auvézère, aangekondigd door het ruisen van het water, is deze smederij een van de meest opmerkelijke plekken in de Perigord Vert. Het dateert uit 1521 en werd in 1979 geklasseerd als Historisch Monument.
De hoogoven, die wordt overschaduwd door het kasteel van de smidsmeesters, getuigt nog steeds van een activiteit die niet meer bestaat en was de laatste in Frankrijk die op houtskool werkte.
De site is het hele jaar door toegankelijk, met een pad rond de smederij in een betoverende omgeving van water en bos.
Rondleidingen met gids zijn mogelijk van begin juni tot eind september.
