Jean-Baptiste André Godin (1817-1888), oprichter van de beroemde Godin kachelfabriek, stelde zich een maatschappij voor die zijn werknemers het "equivalent van rijkdom" bood. In de tweede helft van de 19e eeuw bouwde hij de Familistère of "Sociaal Paleis". Je ontdekt de Familistère via het museum, de showflat, de binnenplaatsen van de woonpaviljoens, de lusthof, de commissariaten, het Théâtre du Familistère en het wasbad.
De Familistère de Guise is gesloten van 5 tot en met 19 januari 2026.
