Description

De loopgraaf van Chattancourt, gelegen op het slagveld van Verdun, is een unieke plek. Deze site, gereconstrueerd in de buurt van de plaats waar de loopgraven van Toulouse en Chattancourt elkaar in 1916 kruisten, stelt de bezoeker in staat in de huid van een Poilu te kruipen.
Elk deel van de loopgraaf is nauwkeurig nagebouwd aan de hand van handleidingen, historische foto's en getuigenissen van soldaten.

Langs de hele route - 100 meter loopgraven en schuilplaatsen - kan de bezoeker zich in de schoenen van een soldaat plaatsen dankzij de vele uitleg en de tentoongestelde voorwerpen. Een reis die helpt de loopgravenoorlog te begrijpen.
