Aardewerk is een delicate kunst die Thiviers sinds 1755 exploiteert dankzij de overvloedige aanwezigheid van water, klei en hout. De reputatie van Thiviers aardewerk bereikte zijn hoogtepunt aan het einde van de 19e eeuw; de stad gaf zelfs haar naam aan een kleur, Thiviers rood. Maar de oven stierf uit in 1929.
De Aardewerkkamer nodigt u uit om het resultaat van deze nauwgezette bewerking van het materiaal te ontdekken via de tentoonstelling van 100 unieke stukken die dateren van 1755 tot 1929. Vazen, borden en voorwerpen van allerlei aard illustreren de pracht van deze kunst.
