Het enige barettenmuseum ter wereld ligt in de regio Béarn, in het bastidestadje Nay. De baret, een emblematisch symbool van Frankrijk, vindt zijn oorsprong in het zuidwesten. Tegenwoordig kun je in een voormalige fabriek de geschiedenis en de vervaardiging van dit emblematische hoofddeksel ontdekken.
Een film, vertaald in verschillende talen, vertelt de geschiedenis van de baret, de manieren waarop hij wordt gedragen en de kenmerken die de identiteit vormen van de persoon die hem draagt! Er is ook een uitzonderlijke collectie oude geanimeerde machines om het productieproces te begrijpen. Mis de kleurrijke winkel niet, en als je geen stokbrood onder je arm hebt, waarom ga je dan niet weg met een baret op?
