Het museum breidt het bezoek aan de grot van Pech Merle uit en presenteert het leven van de mens in de Quercy tijdens de prehistorie. Twee permanente tentoonstellingen en een film van 25 minuten over de prehistorische schilderingen in de grot. Educatieve workshops voor schoolkinderen: ontdek door experimenteren en aanraken de kunst van de oorsprong, de oudste geschreven sporen, de evolutie van de mens.
In juli en augustus en tijdens alle schoolvakanties, ter bescherming van de grot, is het aantal bezoekers beperkt, het is noodzakelijk enkele dagen van tevoren te reserveren.
