De Suran is gemarkeerd door talrijke doorwadingen, grote stenen die over de stroom zijn geplaatst. De oevers werden ook aangelegd voor de doorgang van dieren. Van onzekere oorsprong, is het waarschijnlijk dat dit gebruik zeer oud is.
