Waarom zou je, met de zon op haar hoogtepunt en de zachtheid van de lente, niet naar de kalkgrasvelden van Fontoy gaan? Een kleine groep is al op pad om de botanische rijkdom van deze biotopen te ontdekken. Onder begeleiding van een gids, naar wie we met een discreet oor luisteren, dwalen we door de kalksteenbodem, op een vrij steile helling, op het zuidzuidwesten, die voor veel zon zorgt. Op bepaalde hellingen rond het dorp zijn alle omstandigheden aanwezig om deze gazons te laten groeien. Deze gebieden zijn rijk aan flora en bieden een oase van rust voor vele insecten, waaronder de Damier de la Succise, een vlinder van Europees belang. Dus trek je laarzen aan en ga op zoek naar de natuur!
