Het Hôtel de Ville werd gebouwd van 1646 tot 1672 door de Lyonese architect Simon Maupin en Girard Desargues. Verwoest door brand in 1674, werd het van 1700 tot 1703 herbouwd door Jules Hardouin Mansart. Het herbergt een uitzonderlijke geschilderde en gebeeldhouwde decoratie.
