De parochie Tenteling bestond uit het dorp Tenteling en de bijgebouwen Diebling en Ebring. Het is een oude parochie die al in 1360 in de lijsten van de Pouillé de Metz wordt genoemd als parochie van de aartspriester van Sankt Arnual. De eerste evaluatie van het belang van de parochie werd gemaakt door abt Philippe Eberhardt, pastoor van Tenteling, van 1676 tot 1721.
