In het historische centrum van Bourges, stad van kunst en geschiedenis, is het Palais Jacques Cœur een van de weelderigste gebouwen van de 15e-eeuwse burgerlijke architectuur. Het is een meesterwerk van flamboyante gotische architectuur. Het combineert het gotische repertoire, koninklijke symboliek, elementen van het wapen van Jacques Coeur en realistische voorstellingen van het dagelijks leven. Geïnspireerd door de aristocratische architectuur van de residenties van hertog Jean de Berry, heeft het gebouw open haarden in alle kamers en een stoombad om zich te wassen. De ceremoniële omloop is gescheiden van de privé-dienst. Ontdek de uitzonderlijke figuur die Jacques Coeur was: koopman, avonturier en geldschieter van koning Karel VII.
