Net als Pont Aven of Barbizon was de Auberge des S?urs Moisy een van de vakantieoorden en ontmoetingsplaatsen voor beroemde schilders die aan het eind van de 19e eeuw naar de Alpes Mancelles kwamen om inspiratie op te doen.
Deze ontmoetingsplaats van impressionistische schilders tussen 1875 en 1925 onthult de geschiedenis, het erfgoed en de huidige stand van de beeldende kunst in dit uitzonderlijke dorp, een van de "honderd mooiste van Frankrijk" en een Petite Cité de Caractère®.
De herberg dankt zijn originaliteit aan de beroemde "Onthoofdingskamer", die op de ISMH-lijst staat.
