Er zijn veertien oratoria in de gemeente Sare, waarvan vijf aan de galzada (middeleeuwse weg) nabij het centrum van het dorp. Volgens de overlevering werden ze in de 17e eeuw gebouwd volgens de wensen van de vissers van Sare.
Een oratorium is een klein religieus monument gewijd aan de verering van een heilige.
Sare is het Baskische dorp met de meeste religieuze gebouwen.
