Aquitanie was een administratieve regio in het zuidwesten van Frankrijk, binnen het gebied van Occitanië en Iparralde. Het omvat de departementen Dordogne, Gironde, Landes, Lot-et-Garonne en Pireneën-Atlantiek. De hoofdstad is Bordeaux. Het woord Aquitanie is afgeleid van het Latijn Aquitania, dat afkomstig is van twee pre-Celtische wortels, die "dicht bij de zee" betekenen. In het Gascogne Occitaans wordt Aquitanie Aquitània [akiˈtanjɔ] genoemd, in het Baskisch Akitania en in het Poitevin-Saintongeais Aguiéne. De regio verdween administratief door de oprichting van de regio Nieuw-Aquitanie.
