Samen met de voormalige refter is de Sainte-Madeleine kapel het enige overgebleven gebouw van het Sainte-Enimie klooster. Dit klooster, waarvan de invloed de streek eeuwenlang heeft getekend, zou in de 6e eeuw zijn gesticht door de heilige Ilère. Het werd in 951 aan de benedictijnenabdij van Monastier-sur-Gazeille (43) toegevoegd en was een van de invloedrijkste kloosterinstellingen tot aan de Franse Revolutie.
De kapel draagt de kenmerken van haar tijd en de rijkdom van haar bouwers: ze is gebouwd in een zeer nauwgezette Romaanse stijl, zoals te zien is aan de precisie van de gebruikte kalksteen en het tongewelf.
Het is zichtbaar door de toegangspoort.
