De zeshoekige romaanse toren van de voormalige kerk van Usselskirch heeft 1000 jaar geschiedenis overleefd en blijft een archeologisch raadsel. Zijn vorm, hoogte en blinde boog zijn ongewoon. De grote kerk uit de 18e eeuw, in 1930 geclassificeerd als historisch monument, heeft de bombardementen op de naburige Maginotlinie tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog niet overleefd. Maar de 1,40 meter dikke muren van de oude toren wel. Aan de voet van de toren zijn acht staties (van de oorspronkelijke veertien) van de 17e-eeuwse kruisweg te zien
Ongewoon: Aan een kant van de toren, een Romeins of voorchristelijk standbeeld hoofd.
