De kazematten, zoals die op de Petersberg, zijn betonnen blokken met een vuurkamer en een kelder die de continuïteit van het vuur tussen twee grotere werken verzekeren. Deze vuurkracht wordt geleverd door een nieuw wapen dat is aangepast aan versterkingen: de dubbele mitrailleur (JM). In Escherange ligt de kazemat in een bucolische omgeving, in de onmiddellijke nabijheid van de ruïnes van de oude kerk (Alte Kirch). Een wandeling in het omringende bos leidt u naar andere verborgen schuilplaatsen of naar uitzonderlijk klein militair erfgoed, zoals een oude begraven tank!
