De exacte bouwdatum van deze kerk is onbekend, maar in documenten uit het einde van de 16e eeuw wordt de kerk genoemd als hoofdkerk. De huidige kerk werd herbouwd met de hulp van de plaatselijke bewoners, die een zo groot, mooi en goedkoop mogelijke kerk wilden. Dus hielpen ze 's avonds (na het werk) of op zondag door materialen te vervoeren vanaf de steenfabriek Borde Rouge, vlakbij het kanaal. Deze kerk heeft maar één schip.
