Het veengebied Demoiselle is een gunstig milieu voor beschermde soorten, zowel plantaardig als entomologisch. Het veen is een echt centrum van belang voor de voortplanting van entomofauna, met zeven diersoorten van nationaal belang en twee andere van regionaal belang.
Het is dus een echte educatieve site die bekend moet worden gemaakt bij het grote publiek en daarom werden in 2022 de eerste werkzaamheden uitgevoerd met de plaatsing van een houten rooster.
