Wijngaardhuizen zijn niet uitsluitend bedoeld als schuilplaats en rustplaats voor wijnbouwers. Het huis in Le Vigier, in Caumont, werd enkele jaren als dienstwoning gebruikt. Andere werden gebruikt om de wijnstokschietkar, de tombereau, de torte ploeg of de decavaillonneuse op te slaan, wanneer de cavaillons niet met een spade werden getrokken. Deze zeer vervallen hut is volledig gebouwd van vakwerk gevuld met leem. Ze is de enige in haar soort in het kanton en getuigt van een bouwtechniek die in het departement zelden wordt gebruikt voor een wijngaardhut.
