Het dorp Chauzeix is een mooi voorbeeld van de landelijke habitat van het massief van de Monédières, met zijn granieten gebouwen, gevels en droge stenen omheiningsmuren. Onder deze kenmerken is het kruis van de Engelsen. Het werd zo genoemd omdat het waarschijnlijk werd uitgehouwen in de periode van de Engelse overheersing, maar waarschijnlijk werd het opgericht in de 16e-17e eeuw. Met zijn hoge zuil domineert het de fontein en vijver van het dorp.
