Geboren in een familie die al drie generaties met hout werkt, begon Jean-Luc met het bewerken van Europese houtsoorten (kastanje, es, beuk, enz.), voordat hij twintig jaar in Frans Guyana doorbracht, waar hij in de industriële sector soorten uit het Amazonegebied ontdekte. Eind 2021 verhuisde hij naar Lembras en begon hij aan zijn huidige activiteit, namelijk optimaal gebruik maken van wat de natuur te bieden heeft. Zijn werk richt zich vooral op de kleuren, de nerven, de reflecties en de vormen van hout, en hij biedt decoratieve en gebruiksvoorwerpen en opdrachten aan. Jean-Luc koopt PEFC-gecertificeerd hout uit Guyana en droogt het ter plekke in Lembras, om de ideale vochtigheidsgraad te bereiken voor gebruik op het Franse vasteland.
