Gelegen op een steenworp afstand van de visvijver en de site La Tuillerie du gué de l'Omme.
Het centrum van Nouaillé-Maupertuis ligt op 18 minuten lopen.
Nouaillé-Maupertuis ligt op 10 km van Poitiers en wordt gewaardeerd om de schoonheid van de abdijsite, die op de monumentenlijst staat. Het complex bestaat uit een Romaanse kerk, een abdijwoning en kloostergebouwen, omgeven door vestingwerken en een gracht.
Nouaillé-Maupertuis is ook beroemd omdat het het toneel was van een van de veldslagen die bekend staat als de "Slag bij Poitiers" in 1356, tijdens de Honderdjarige Oorlog, toen de koning van Frankrijk, Jean le Bon, gevangen werd genomen.
