Romain, een jonge levensgenieter van 30 jaar, stelde zichzelf in 2014 een uitdaging: Château Haut Bernasse overnemen, een domein van 14 hectare, beplant met 11 hectare witte druiven (Semillon, Muscadelle, Sauvignon Blanc en Gris) en 3 hectare rode druiven (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot en Cabernet Franc) in omschakeling naar biologische landbouw.
Hij bewerkt deze 35 jaar oude wijnstokken op traditionele wijze, met één rij beplant met gras en één rij geploegd, met als doel kwaliteitswijnen te produceren van dit uitzonderlijke terroir.
