Volgens de legende sliep paus Julius II in dit huis toen hij Verdun bezocht om de bisschop van de stad, die gevangen zat voor de koning van Frankrijk, te bevrijden. Deze stierf echter in 1513, terwijl het huis dateert uit 1533! Een hypothese is dat op de plek van dit elegante herenhuis in renaissancestijl een eerder huis stond van hout en modder, maar dat het de tand des tijds niet heeft overleefd. Het huis werd in 1926 geklasseerd als historisch monument. Als winnaar van de Loto du Patrimoine 2023 wordt het momenteel gerestaureerd....
