Het Mijnbouwmuseum bevindt zich in het hart van deze grote ontspanningsruimte, die beschikt over ludieke voorzieningen (struikendoolhof, buitenspelen, fontein, picknickplaats) en educatieve voorzieningen (verrijking van de flora), alsmede een openluchttheater
Dit park, dat in september 2007 is geopend, is bedoeld voor publiek uit de nabije regio. Het is het beginpunt van verschillende wandelroutes.
