Het Oberschloss, of Bovenkasteel, is een prachtig burgerlijk huis gebouwd door de Oostenrijkse baronnen, de Haindels, die Romanswiller bezaten. Gebouwd in het midden van de 18e eeuw, werd het kasteel een tiental jaren bewoond door de familie Cerf Berr, daarna door andere families, waarvan de laatste Jacques Metzger was. Hij zette een grote familieboerderij op die verschillende generaties verwelkomde. Het bijgebouw werd in 2012 aan de gemeente verkocht.
