Prestbury is een dorp en burgerlijke parochie in de borough van Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, Engeland. Gelegen aan de rand van Cheltenham en maakt deel uit van het parlementaire kiesdistrict Tewkesbury.
De naam van het dorp betekent "versterkte plaats van de priesters", afkomstig van het Anglo-Saksische preost en burh, mogelijk van een versterkt landhuis dat toebehoorde aan de Bisschop van Hereford in de 13e eeuw. De vestiging wordt genoemd als Preosdabyrig in 899-904. Prestbury wordt vermeld in het Doomsday Book van 1086 als "Presteberie", onderdeel van het bezit van de kerk van Hereford, met 18 dorpsbewoners, vijf kleine boeren, een priester, een rijdende man en 11 slaven. Tegen de 13e eeuw was het Presbery geworden. In 1249 kreeg de Bisschop van Hereford toestemming om een wekelijkse markt te houden samen met een driedaagse jaarlijkse beurs in augustus.
