Llanafan Fawr is een dorp en gemeenschap en kerkelijke parochie in het voormalige cantref van Buellt en de historische graafschap Brecknockshire in Wales. Het maakt nu deel uit van Powys. De gemeenschap omvat de voormalige parochie van Llanfihangel Bryn Pabuan.
De parochie heeft een oppervlakte van iets meer dan 5.000 hectare en een verspreide plattelandsbevolking van meer dan duizend. Het is vernoemd naar Sint Afan en was in de oudheid het centrum van Cantref Buallt, voordat de bouw van Builth Wells ongeveer 9 mijl verderop plaatsvond. De voormalige kuuroordstad Llandrindod Wells ligt ook dichtbij.
