De Tafelheuvels zijn een oost-west lijn van onderscheidende heuvels op de zuidelijke grens van de North York Moors, die zich uitstrekken van Scarborough in het oosten tot Black Hambleton in het westen. De naam verwijst naar hun vlakke, tafelvormige toppen die zijn samengesteld uit hard Corallian kalksteen, lokaal bekend als "nabs". Ze vormen de noordelijke grens van de Vale of Pickering.
Steile rivierkloven doorbreken de Tafelheuvels en vormen een gebroken reeks tabletvormige heuvels. Het meest kenmerkende kenmerk hiervan is hun noordelijke helling, die oprijst tot 200 voet boven het heidegebied in het noorden. Aan de westelijke kant, voorbij de River Rye, sluiten ze aan op de noord-zuid Hambleton Hills, die een vergelijkbare geologische basis hebben.
