De Yorkshire Dales is een hooggelegen deel van de Pennines in het historische graafschap Yorkshire , Engeland, het meeste in het Yorkshire Dales National Park, gecreëerd in 1954.
De Dales bestaat uit riviervalleien en de heuvels die oplopen van de Vale of York in westelijke richting naar de heuveltoppen van het Pennine- stroomgebied . In Ribblesdale , Dentdale en Garsdale strekt het gebied zich westwaarts uit over de waterscheiding, maar de meeste valleien lopen oostwaarts af naar de Vale of York, in de Ouse en de Humber . De uitgebreide kalkstenen grotten zijn een belangrijk gebied voor speleologie in het Verenigd Koninkrijk en talloze wandelpaden lopen door de heuvels en dalen.
