In de driehoek die de weg van Pilos naar Gialova met de baai van Navarino vormt werd een golfbaan aangelegd. Dit maakt deel uit van het hotelcompex Costa Navarino een 8-tal km naar het noorden gelegen. Om in dit klimaat de golfbaan fris groen te houden zijn sloten water nodig. Daarom werd een meer aangelegd in de buurt.
