Zicht op de Petasos Kaap vanop het kasteel van Myrina. Deze plek ligt aan de oorsprong van de uitdrukking "Lemnische daden". Volgens een Griekse legende, werden de vrouwen van Lemnos verlaten door hun mannen voor Thracische vrouwen omdat ze stonken. Uit wraak vermoorden de vrouwen hun mannen bij terugkeer naar het eiland Lemnos door ze van deze kaap in de zee te gooien. Deze barbaarse daad ligt aan de oorspong van de uitrukking "Lemnische daden" of "Lemnian deeds", wat zoveel betekent als een gruwelijke slachting met wraak als oorzaak.
