Kefalonia is de thuisbasis van het Saristra Festival, een jaarlijks evenement voor liefhebbers van indie- en elektronische muziek. Het festival, dat in 2012 van start ging, is uitgegroeid tot een vaste waarde. Het vindt plaats in de ruïnes van het bergdorpje Palia Vlachata, dat verlaten werd nadat het zwaar beschadigd raakte door de aardbeving die in 1953 een groot deel van het eiland verwoestte. Het Saristra Festival, een eerbetoon aan de oude dorpen en gemeenschappen van Kefalonia en een grensverleggend creatief project, vult het verlaten dorp met muziek, dans, tentoonstellingen en allerlei creatieve uitingen.
