Langs de weg zie je het gesteente schist. Iets hoger op de heuvel vind je marmer. Je zal merken dat er een zeer sterk verband is met het landgebruik en de twee soorten gesteenten. Het marmeren gebied is bedekt met struikgewas, gebruikt om schapen en voornamelijk geiten te laten grazen. De leisteen levert veel meer bodemmateriaal en wordt gebruikt om tarwe van olijfbomen te verbouwen.
